The Mind Your Own Business podcast hosted by Skip Cohen and Chamira Young talks about all things related to the business of photography and especially making the switch from amateur to professional.
While the Mind Your Own Business podcast might not on the surface seem like a good fit for amateur photographers, many episodes go well beyond the business of photography. The show interviews professional photographers and business owners. The topics they bring to the table are varied and interesting.
A recent episode with boudoir photographer Jen Rozenbaum discusses issues of using the camera to overcome life’s challenges and how, through her boudoir photography, she seeks to empower women.
The conversation centers about bringing femininity back into feminism. Chamira was impressed by one of Jen’s recent blog postings “Every Woman Deserves a Boudoir Shoot”
Jen Rozenbaum is all about celebrating a woman’s body and through her photography making every woman feel good about herself.
Jen goes on to talk about her struggle with breast cancer and her mastectomy – a procedure that changed the look of her body – and the need to share her journey with other women. She talks about how her cancer changed her outlook on life and now she adopts a philosophy of living her life backwards - doing things that in a way that she won’t regret on her deathbed.
Through Jen’s website, Shamelessly Feminine, she openly states her beliefs, which will motivate and empower women including: “always buying good shoes, it's a necessity if you plan to land on your feet” and “you are perfect right now, just the way you are.”
