I'm a great fan of photo journalist Alison Wright. There are many interviews and videos of her speaking and of her photos documenting the Tibet people. She is a motivational speaker and hearing her speak of her travels is inspiring. Alison talks of putting her camera down to save a distraught woman from throwing herself into the sea after loosing her children in a natural disaster.
This lecture is as good a place to start as any. Alison shows her amazing photos of people from around the world. The photos are part of her book project "Faces of Hope". She captures something special in each of her portraits.
Video Description: After confronting her own mortality in a near-fatal bus crash, photographer Alison Wright dedicates her career to capturing the human spirit through her photographs and writing.
